Join the Wharton Club of Seattle for the next session of Ideas Club, where we discuss great talks! The Ideas Club is like a book club for talks. While books are wonderful, we don't always have the time to read an entire book.
With Ideas Club, rather than read and discuss a book, we watch or listen to a talk and discuss the talk. The idea is a lightweight way to learn, discuss great ideas, and connect with fellow alum. Talks are viewed before the meeting and we'll come together to discuss insights and thoughts around the talk.
Meetings are 1hr and will split the time with networking and talk discussion. Sign up early as attendance will be limited in order to optimize group participation.
For our next meeting, we'll look into how to increase our impact by leveraging the power of magic words. We'll discuss the talk Prof Jonah Berger did for Wharton outlining ideas from his latest book, Magic Words.

In this talk, Professor of Marketing Jonah Berger discusses the new science of language and how we can use it. From emails and power points to phone calls and pitch meetings, almost everything we do involves words. Words are how we persuade, communicate, and connect. But certain words are more impactful than others. They’re better at changing minds, engaging listeners, and driving action. What are these magic words and how can we take advantage of their power?
