Edward Nevraumont (WG'05) has been obsessing about generative AI since the launch of GPT-3 in the summer of 2020. His attempts to get companies to incorporate the new capabilities were extremely unsuccessful until last year. In May 2022 he gave a speech to Warburg Pincus CMOs and CSOs on why they should make AI and LLMs a priority, and something finally clicked. For the last nine months Ed has been helping these portfolio companies leverage AI and LLMs. He had given a version of that May 2022 speech dozens of times to executives across the country, in Europe and Africa. The talk walks through the short history of AI, how the technology actually works, and how to use it most effectively in business. It gets past the hype to talk about what really matters.
Ed advises PE-backed companies on marketing, sales and growth. He was previously a CMO at APFM and General Assembly, an executive at Expedia and a consultant with McKinsey. He writes at Marketingbs.substack.com. He also writes and performs comedy, so be prepared for a joke or two in the presentation.
The Wharton Club extends its appreciation to Ed and to our venue host, Kevin Lam (WG'13) of Compass Real Estate. Networking and light refreshments start at 6pm and the program starts at 7pm.
